Volunteering at the library

Note: Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, all volunteering is temporarily suspended. Please check back here for updates.

The library regularly offers volunteer opportunities according to the needs of library staff. Volunteers help us with many different types of projects, including maintaining the library collection and preparing events and craft projects. Volunteers typically work a single two-hour shift each week, but we’re happy to discuss other arrangements as necessary.

If you’re interested in volunteering at the library, please fill out our Volunteer Application. If you’d like to learn more, please email Volunteer Coordinator Bridget Kennedy or call her at (413) 283-3330, ext. 128.

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Palmer Public Library is a dedicated group of volunteers who help to support the library by operating the Library Loft used bookstore and raising money to help fund library programming. If you’re interested in joining the Friends or working at the Loft, please fill out a Volunteer Application and specify that you’re interested in working at the Loft.

Library Association

The Palmer Public Library Association holds an annual meeting each year to discuss library business and elect the members and officers of the Board of Directors. Anyone who lives in Palmer is eligible to become a voting member of the association. If you’re interested in joining the Library Association, please Ask a Librarian.
