The Palmer Public Library invites local authors to be a part of our first Local Author Book Fair on Saturday, November 7th. This event will be a chance for local authors to network and promote their work.

WHO: If you’ve published or self-published at least one book intended for adult or teens and live in Massachusetts, you are eligible to participate. Please note that priority will be given to authors living in Palmer and the surrounding towns.
We will provide one table (either square card table, or half of a shared larger rectangular table) and two chairs per author. The individual square card tables will be filled first. The author (you) must be present. No one may exhibit at the table other than you plus one helper. You are responsible for tablecloths, cash boxes, signs, display stands, paper, pens, or any other items you wish to use. The transport and arrangement of promotional materials, displays, and books to sell are your responsibility. Authors are not allowed to tape/hang anything on the walls. Display boards should fit within the confines of your table space so as to not infringe upon neighboring exhibitors. Authors may bring their own snacks and drinks. Setup will be from 9:15AM-10:00AM.
If you wish to sell your work, you will be responsible for providing the books and having change available. Payments for items sold should be accepted by cash or check. We do not have the ability to accommodate credit/debit card transactions. However, we have WiFi available for those whose equipment operates wirelessly. If you choose to accept electronic payments, the setup and configuration of the machine is your responsibility. No technical support will be provided.
The Palmer Public Library cannot guarantee it will add an author’s work to its collection due to the participation of an author in the Local Author Fair. Books must be edited and published. Unpublished manuscripts will not be accepted. Authors who do not have printed copies of their books are not eligible. The Palmer Public Library reserves the right to accept or refuse any applicant at its discretion.
Space is limited, and submitting an application does not guarantee you space at the fair. Along with author residence, publication quality, local interest, artistic merit, and variety of genres will be considered. Please complete and sign the application (either the paper form available at the library, or the digital form below) no later than Friday, September 25th.

You may also pick up, complete and submit a paper application in person at the Palmer Public Library 2nd floor reference desk. Authors whose applications are approved will be notified by Friday, October 2nd.
